Checking section form at trajectory points |
Scroll |
When you plot an element by path with changing section shape, you can see what sizes and shapes the cross-section has at different points of the trajectory. To do that, use the Cross-section check section.
|
Cross-section check is present on the Parameter Panel if the Changing shape toggle switch in Changing the cross-section shape section is set to position I (enabled). |
To display sections in the graphic area, set the Display Sections toggle switch to position I (enabled). The toggle is available if the cross-sectional shape changes (for example, if a series of values is set for the variable size at points, or a function type other than Constant is selected, or the cross-sectional shape changes with guiding objects). If the section modification does not occur, the toggle switch is unavailable.
When the Display Sections toggle switch is enabled, the Parameter Toolbar includes the Section Series/Section Run toggle switch, which allows you to choose the section placement option.
•Sectional series — multiple sections are positioned along the trajectory at equal distances from each other.
The required number of sections is set in the Number of sections field.
Only the outline is displayed for each section, without dimensions.
•Section rolling — the section is positioned at the required point of the trajectory.
The distance from the start of the trajectory to the position point of the section is specified in the Offset, % field, or in the graphic area using the characteristic point on the trajectory.
If dimensions are set in the sketch section, they are displayed in the obtained section. Dimension values are calculated for the specified section position.
Elements of the section are highlighted when you hover the cursor on them.
If at some point on the trajectory a section cannot be constructed, then the initial section, highlighted in red, is shown instead. It allows to determine the section of the trajectory where an erroneous contour occurs. To find out the reason for the error, click the section contour with the mouse. In the bottom right-hand corner of the graphic region, a corresponding message appears.

Sections are shown regardless of whether the phantom element is displayed or not. |
