Standard texts |

Standard texts are fragments of texts stored in libraries of elements (*.kle). Standard texts are used to automate input of frequently encountered strings or designations. The delivery package KOMPAS-3D includes the library Standard texts (file Kompas_tdp.kle).
Selection and insertion of standard text
To insert standard texts, use the Standard text...
.
After fetching the command, the display of Libraries toolbar gets enabled, and the Standard texts library (see the Figure) becomes current.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Expand the required library section with a mouse click on the icon
to the left of its name.
2.Double-click on the required standard text – it will be inserted into the current cursor position.

|
•To search for the required text in the library, you can use the search string. Enter the sought-for text into the search box on top of the Library toolbar and press the <Enter> key. In the list of search results, select the required string – the section containing the specified text will be expanded, and the text itself will be highlighted. •You can address the Standard texts library in the ordinary way, without fetching a command for insertion of standard text: to enable the Library toolbar and select the required library from the list. |
The inserted standard text can be edited as ordinary text entered from the keyboard (see section Editing text, insert and replace modes). Information on from which library the text was inserted is not saved. Owing to that, on transfer of documents on other work places, you don’t have to take care of the transfer of libraries with standard texts.
Libraries of standard texts
As the source of standard texts, only one of the libraries of elements (*.kle) included into the configuration can be used. In the Configurator of this library, the Use library to insert standard textsattribute must be enabled.
The library with the specified attribute automatically becomes current on fetching the Standard text...command.
Step-by-step instructions on editing a library of standard texts
1.Create a KOMPAS-Text Document (*.kdw) and enter all the standard texts which should be added into the library.
2.Using the File – Save selected text command, save each standard text into a separate *.kdwfile.
It is not recommended to save texts into a separate *.kdw file with the File – Save command, since even detailing and other data are written into the file, because of which the size of the *.kdw file, and afterwards the library, increases.
3.Run the Library Editor using the Applications — Utilities — Library Editor commandKOMPAS-3D.
4.In the Editor, execute the File — Open command and open the library into which you need to include the saved standard texts.
5.In the library, select the section to add text and fetch the Library – Add element command.
6.Fetch the File – Save command, and then File – Exit.
In the Library Editor, you can also change the library structure, or create a new library.
The File — Open library lfr, l3d, tdp Editor Command allows opening a file *.tdp (these files contained text templates — analogous to predefined texts in KOMPAS-3D version 16 and earlier) to save it in the library format *.kle.

It is also possible to include standard texts in the txt format into the library of elements. Each text should be saved in a separate file. |
