Tolerances and ranges – Default tolerances

Scroll

The setup of default tolerance parameters in a graphical document is performed in the Value and state of tolerances by default dialog, which is invoked by the command Setup — Parameters... — Current Drawing/Fragment — Dimensions — Tolerances and Limits — Default Tolerances.

The dialog contains a group of buttons – Default dimension tolerances. The buttons are used to fetch the Tolerance dialog in which the default value of the tolerance is set – either by setting the degree of accuracy or input of the maximum deviations. The setup is performed separately for each type of dimensions: linear, angular, diametrical, radial (for angular dimensions, only deviations are set). The customizable parameters relate to subgroup 2.1 (see section Types of object parameters).

Near each button, there is a field to view the current value of tolerance. The field is unavailable for manual editing; variants of the contents:

number 10 (value 10 is used for illustration) with the tolerance grade or deviations — dimensions of the given type will have the specified tolerance,

empty field – dimensions of the given type will not have a tolerance.

The field may contain only the number 10. That means that the tolerance is set by a degree of accuracy, but selected is such a number of a degree of accuracy for which the display in the dimensional caption is disabled. The number starting from which the tolerance grade is not added into the caption is set while setting up precisions of dimension texts (see section Precisions).

On completion of the set-up, press the OKbutton. Click Cancel to discard all changes and close the dialog box.
