Parameters for generating model version numbers are set up in the dialog Generating numbers for new versions. The dialog appears on the screen after calling the command Settings — Parameters... — Current part/assembly — Numbers of new versions, as well as after clicking the button Parameters for forming numbers of new versions 
in the Document Manager when working with versions or additional numbers.

Generate new performance numbers |
The option allows to control automatic generation of numbers during creation of versions. If the option is enabled, then the number of a new version is generated automatically according to the set parameters. If the option is disabled, then on creation of a dependent version the number of initial version is assigned to it, and during creation of an independent version – the number is missing. |

Continuous numbering |
The option allows to set an order of generation of version numbers. •With the option enabled for each new version, both dependent and independent, the number following the greatest number of version available in the document is generated. •With the option disabled, the number of the version being created is generated depending on which nesting level this version is and to which independent version it is subordinated. For example, the initial version is ABC-123.45-03, where ABC-123.45 – the base designation, and 03 – the version number. This number is the greatest. •If the option is enabled, the new version (dependent or independent) gets the number 04. The version designation takes the form ABC-123.45-04. •If the option is disabled, a new dependent version is created with the number 03-01. Its designation takes the form ABC-123.45-03-01. A new independent version is created with the number 04. Designation of this version is ABC-123.45-04. |

Separator |
The field allows to set the character which will be displayed before the number in the version designation. |

Insert zeros before a number |
The option allows to control adding of zeros before the number entering being part thereof. With this option enabled, zeros are added, if disabled – not. The number of added zeros depends on the number length. |

Number digit capacity |
The dropdown list allows to set the minimum number of decimal places for a number. |

Start from |
The field allows – using a counter – for entering or setting a number from which the numbering of versions will start. |

Generate additional execution numbers |
The option allows to control the order of generation of additional numbers. •With the option enabled, numbers are generated automatically in accord with the settings described below. •With the option disabled, numbers are not generated. If the document contains numbers generated with the enabled option, then further disabling the option does not affect the order of generation of numbers, i.e. the next number will be created with the same settings as for the numbers already existing in the document. |

Having done all the required settings, press the OK button. Click Cancel to discard all changes and close the dialog box.
