The setup of default parameters for sheet solids for a part is performed in the Sheet Solid Properties dialog, which is invoked by the command Setup — Parameters... – Current detail – Properties of the sheet body .

Controls of the dialog for setting up the parameters of a sheet solid


The element

Description of setting


Thickness, mm

The field displays the default thickness of a sheet part.


Radius, mm

The field displays the default bend radius.

The Outdoor option allows for selecting the method for designing bends. If it is enabled, bends will be designed over the outer radius, otherwise – over the internal radius.


In designing a sheet solid, the bends conforming to the angles of contour in the sketch are designed over the inner radius regardless of the state of this option.


Angle, degrees

The field displays the default value of the bend angle.

The Appendingoption allows to indicate interpretation of the angle. If this option is enabled, the angle is regarded as appending, otherwise — as a bend angle (see section Calculation Direction and Methods for Setting the Angle).


Release

Enable this option to make released bends be created in the model by default (see section Bend release).


Rectangular,

Rounded

Select the default variant for the relief shape.


Depth,

Width

The default dimensions of bend relief is displayed in the field.


Flat pattern

The group of options allows to indicate how lengths of flat patterns of bends should be determined.


Position coefficient of the neutral layer

Select this option if the length of flat pattern should be calculated using the coefficient of neutral layer (see section Determination of the Flat Pattern Length Using the Position Coefficient of the Neutral Layer).

The field displays the default value of the coefficient.


Bend amount

Select this option if the length of flat pattern will be set explicitly (see section Determination of the Flat Pattern Length By Specifying the Bend Amount).

The field displays the default value of the bend value.


Bend Reduction

Select this option if the length of flat pattern should be determined by setting the bend reduction (see section Determination of the Flat Pattern Length by Specifying Bend Reduction).

The field displays the default value of the reduce.

Bend table

To select the file of the table, press the button with dots and specify the required file in a standard file selection dialog. The full name of the specified file will appear in the Bend table field.

Note that on enabling the Bend table option the variants of determination of the length of flat pattern become unavailable since use of the table is of priority relative to these variants. At the same time, the values displayed in the numerical fields of the Flat Pattern group will be applied by default to the bends using the respective variants for determination of the flat pattern length.

Please note that all the numerical fields in the dialog for setting up the sheet solid (Thickness, Bend Radius, etc.) are reference fields. They conform to the current values of variables for a sheet solid (see section Variables of the Sheet Solid and Working with them). On change of the value of a variable, the contents of the respective field changes accordingly.

Therefore, directly in the dialog of parameters of a sheet solid the following setting is possible:

change of the method of setting bend radiuses,

change of interpretation of an angle,

enabling or disabling releases of bends and selection of the form of release,

selection of the length determination method for the flat patterns of bends,

changing table of bends.

Having set the parameters of a sheet solid, press the OK button. Click Cancelto discard all changes to the settings and exit the dialog.

The specified parameters will be used as the default during creation of new bends in a sheet solid. Parameters of the bends created before change of the setup will remain the same.

Selection of a new table of bends will affect the bends already existing in the model. For more information, see section Changing Table of bends.
