The element

Description


Used rule set:

A list that allows you to select or form a style according to which the text will be checked:

Strictly (all the rules) – a complete set of grammatical and stylistic rules,

For business correspondence – a set of rules for checking business prose: correspondence, texts of contracts, scientific articles, etc.,

For regular correspondence – a set of rules for checking informal texts: letters, internal memoranda, etc.,

Custom style – a set of rules, formed by the user. To create an arbitrary set of rules, select one of the user styles, turn on or turn off the use of rules as you like, and close the dialog by clicking OK.

Style

In the list of rule titles, the rules can be simultaneously displayed for either grammar checking or stylistic. To specify the type of rules, select the desired option: Grammar or Style.

In order to use this or that rule during the text check, turn on the option to the left of the rule name, to stop using the rule – turn it off. You can get detailed information about each rule. To do this, select it in the list and click Explanations.


Require

A group of controls that allows you to customize the use of certain literary text editing rules:

Genitive cases in a row — sets the maximum allowable number of consecutive nouns in the genitive case,

Prepositional-nominal groups in sequence set the maximum allowable number of consecutive combinations of a preposition and a noun.

Agreement with “which” sets the maximum allowable number of words between the relative pronoun (which, what, wherewith) and the noun it refers to.

Word limit per sentence — sets the maximum number of words allowed in a sentence. Run on sentences are thus considered erroneous.


Initial setting

A button that allows you to return the default set of rules to the selected test style. After you click it, all changes made by the user are discarded.


Explanations

A button that allows you to view explanations of the rule selected in the list. After pressing it, a window appears with a detailed description of the selected rule.
