The name which will be suggested by default upon the first saving of a file can be set up. Setup is performed in the Default File Name at First Savingdialog fetched by the Settings — Parameters... — System — Files — Default File Name command.
The dialog contains various options for file name generation.
The Document Type variant allows to use the type name for the document being saved as the file name. For example, when saving a drawing, the system will suggest the name "Drawing.cdw", for the assembly – "Assembly.a3d".
Designation of the document, or its name or both can be used as the file name. To that end, select the required variant:
•Designation,
•Name,
•Designation+Name,
•Name+Designation.
If selected was a variant that includes both the designation and the name, then a separator is inserted between these elements. You can select the required separator from the dropdown list or enter it manually into the Separator field.
For a part or assembly, the designation and the name are taken from the document properties.
The value of the required property may be not set in the document. In this case, for names consisting of one part (designation or the name), the name of document type is used. If the name consists of two parts, then the second part of a name without separator is used. If none of the name parts is set, then the name of its type is suggested as a the document name.

While saving fragments regardless of the setting, the filename "Fragment.frw" is suggested. |
Upon completion of setting up the default file name, press the OK button. Click Cancel to discard all changes and close the dialog box.

If the resultant file name contains characters inadmissible in file names (since they are represented in a designation, name, or a separator), then while saving a document a warning message appears on the screen. Press the Yes button to delete invalid characters from the file name. The nan button allows using the name of a document type as the file name. |
