Selection of the help call method is made in the Help dialog, which can be invoked using the command Settings — Parameters... — System — General — Help.
The dialog contains a single option — Use online help.
The enabled option means that when referring to the help during work with KOMPAS-3D, it will be accessed from the Internet.
Disabling the option means that when accessing the help, its local version, i.e., the one located on the hard drive, will be invoked. Files necessary for the operation of the local version of the help are present on the computer if the installation of Local Help for KOMPAS-3D was included during the installation of KOMPAS-3D. If during the installation of KOMPAS-3D the specified component is not included, using the local version of the help is impossible: a message about this will appear on the screen when attempting to access the help.
The chosen method of invoking help also applies to those KOMPAS-3D add-ons that feature online help. If the application has only local help, then it will be invoked regardless of the setting.
Having completed setup of the help, press the OK button. Click Cancel to discard all changes and close the dialog box.

A method to call help can also be changed using the Help – Use online help command. |
|
The status of the option Use online help is not recorded in System Parameter file (*.pfl). |
|
Information about the currently selected method of calling help is stored in the file C:\\ProgramData\\ASCON\\HelpServer\\config.xml. If the current user does not have sufficient rights to edit this file (or if the file is unavailable for writing for any reason), then changing the state of the option Use online help is impossible. |
