Picking Over |
Scroll |
Sometimes, an object that needs to be specified is located closely to other objects or is overlaid upon other objects. At the same time it is difficult (and sometimes impossible at all) to specify it precisely with a cursor.
To select any of the closely located objects (including those overlaid one upon another), the picking over of objects mode is used. Picking over is possible when the system is awaiting selection or pointing to an object, and multiple objects fall within the cursor’s catcher.
Selection of objects is often required prior to performing an action. For example, to move objects to another layer, they need to be selected before calling the transfer command.
Pointing to objects is required during execution of some commands. For example, to build a parallel line it is necessary to point to an object to which the segment being created should be parallel.
Picking over during selection of graphic objects
1.Move the cursor onto a group of objects containing the required one, and select any of them with a mouse click.
2.Call the Cycle Objects
command from the context menu or press the key combination <Ctrl> + <T>.
The Picking Overdialog is displayed on the screen. It contains a list of objects which fell within the cursor’s catcher at the moment of selection of the first object.
3.Browse objects by hovering the cursor over the list items. The matching objects will be selected alternately in the graphic area.
4.After highlighting of the required object, left-click on its name.
Picking over will be complete at the current object, and the dialog is closed.
5.To exit the picking over mode without pointing to an object, press the <Esc> key.

You don’t have to complete the picking over. You can run a command to execute which an object is selected immediately after it has been highlighted. |
Picking over on pointing to graphic objects
1.Move the cursor onto a group of objects that contains the required object. Do not select any of them.
2.Invoke the Object Iteration
command from the context menu or press the <Ctrl>+<T> key combination.
The Picking Overdialog is displayed on the screen. It contains a list of objects that are trapped by the cursor at the moment of invoking the command to pick over.
3.Browse objects by hovering the cursor over the list items. The matching objects will be selected alternately in the graphic area.
4.After selection of the required object, complete picking over with confirmation of the choice. To that end, left-click on the object name or press the <Enter> key. It is also possible to click a mouse on the illuminated object or in any empty seat of a document window.
5.To complete picking over without pointing to the object, press the Close button of the dialog or the <Esc> key.
The system will return to the command execution mode, for which the object was specified.
