Variables of the Sheet Solid

Scroll

With a Closed Sketch

Thickness of the sheet solid is set in the Thickness field. The arrow on the phantom indicates the direction of adding thickness. Thickness is actually the distance by which the sketch is extruded.

The direction of adding the material can be reversed by pressing the Reverse direction button to the right of the Thickness field.

With an Open Sketch

Thickness of the sheet solid is set in the Thickness field.

Change Direction button to the right of this field allows you to set the direction of adding material – outward or inward relative to the surface created by moving the sketch.

The internal radius for bends in the contour corners are set in the Radius field. The minimum admissible value of the internal radius is 0.0002 mm.

You can build a sheet solid in one direction or in two opposite directions. You can select a construction method using the Method group of buttons. Parameters for the selected method are set in the same way as when you build extrusion elements, with just one exception: when you create a sheet solid, building To nearest surface is not possible.
