You can combine several components of the current model into a subassembly.

Merging is only possible for first-level components, i.e., those inserted directly into the current model, rather than into any of its subassemblies.

The merge creates a new assembly file (*.a3d) containing the components of the current model specified for merging. The new assembly is inserted into the current model as a subassembly, and the components that comprise it are removed from the model. The files for these components on disk remain unchanged.

The absolute coordinate system of the new subassembly coincides with the absolute coordinate system of the current model.

To combine components into a subassembly, select them in the Build Tree and select Combine components into subassembly from the context menu. In the standard file save dialog box that appears on the screen, specify the folder and file name for the assembly, and then click Save. The dialog box will close.

To save changes to the current model, select File — Save. .

The following components cannot be merged into a subassembly:

blank parts,

components being instances or source objects of the array.

You can cancel the combination of components in subassembly using the command Cancel or key kombination <Ctrl>+<Z>. Undoing and redoing actions...

The assembly file (*.a3d) remains unchanged in its original location.
