The absolute coordinate system can be right-side and left-side.

Most models contain the right-side coordinate system. In this system, when you look at the XY plane from the end of the Z vector, the X axis is aligned with the Y axis by rotating counterclockwise.

The right-side coordinate system in the Design Tree is marked with an icon .

In the left-side coordinate system, the Z axis is inverted. When you look at the XY plane from the end of the Z vector, the X axis is aligned with the Y axis by rotating clockwise.

Models with the left-side coordinate system occur in the following cases:

when you create components by mirroring and a new model is created as a result (see section Selecting the result of component mirroring),

when you create mirrored versions (see section Ways to create mirrored versions),

when you manually invert the Z axis (see section Converting the Coordinate System from Right to Left).

The left-handed coordinate system is designated with the corresponding icon in the Design Tree of the models themselves and the insertions of these models into other documents.

In addition, the left-side coordinate system can be created in the component and stored only in the model containing this component (without transfer to the component source model, i. e. the source retains the right-side coordinate system). This occurs in the following cases:

when you create components by mirroring and the created components are mirrored inserts of the initial components (see section Selecting the result of component mirroring),

when you create an array by sample which uses a mirrored array as a sample (see sections Mirrored Array and Array by instance) — in this case, the component is an instance of the array.

The coordinate systems of such components in the Design Tree of the model containing them are marked with an icon of the right-handed CS, as the designations in the Tree reflect the state of objects in the source models of the components.

All constructions are run similarly in the right-side and left-side coordinate systems.
