While working with projective designations, the following specialties must be taken into account.

Projection designations have an association link with the respective dimensions, captions, tables, and designations in the model. Because of this link, a caption text, a caption text of the projection designation, a table and some other parameters of a projection designation (type of angular dimension, type of surface finish symbol, etc.) are transferred from the model to the drawing. Update of drawing occurs upon its opening, as well as by the Edit — Rebuild command. More details on rearranging the drawing...

A projection dimension doesn't display the tolerance class added to the dimension text when editing a dimension previously transferred to the drawing in the model. However, the tolerance limits for this tolerance class are displayed, regardless of whether their display is enabled or disabled in the model, which corresponds to the tolerances and limit values for the current drawing. You can enable the tolerance class display in the dimension text when editing a projection dimension in the drawing.

The sign of existence of an association link between the model and projection designation is the presence of the latter's restriction Projection . You can also delete this constraint, and the projection designation will be transformed into a common dimension or designation.

The projection dimensions are linked to not only dimensions in the model, but to the geometrical objects of an associative view as well (i.e. with projections of objects to which they were set). Due to that, during update of the drawing the dimensions are re-built in accord with the change of the model’s image.

The letter in projection designation of the base is transferred from the model to the drawing only if autosorting for bases is disabled in the drawing (see section Auto-sorting); when a letter is changed in the model, synchronization is not performed. If autosorting of bases is enabled, then the first vacant letter is assigned to the projection designation of the base as per the sorting order. If autosorting is disabled in the drawing, in the in projection designations of bases there remain only those letters which were there on the moment of disabling.

If the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing symbol of surface in the model contains references to designations of the bases, then similar references are created in the drawing as well.
