Sometimes an object that you have to select in the graphic area of the model is located closely to or overlaid upon, or hidden under other objects. At the same time, it is difficult (and sometimes even impossible) to point it out with a cursor.

To select any of the closely located objects (including those overlapping each other), use the object picking over option. Picking over is possible when the system awaits an object to be specified or selected, while the cursor "traps" multiple objects.

Override is also available when the cursor is trapped by a curve in a sketch that has the Normal style and intersects with or touches other curves with the Normal style in the same sketch. In this case, you can use brute force to select the entire curve or a portion of it that is under the cursor and bounded by the intersection/touch points.

If you need to select objects of a certain type, then enable filters in the button menu Filter all objects on the Quick Access Toolbar. Filters must be enabled before using the Iterate Over Objects command.

To select one of the hidden, matching, or nearby objects, follow these steps.

1.Hover the cursor over the group of objects that contains the required object. One of the objects in the group will be highlighted.

2.Call the Enumerate objects command from the context menu. You can also press a key combination <Ctrl> + <T>. The Object Browser dialog box will appear. It contains a list of objects trapped by the cursor. Objects are displayed according to the enabled filters and sorted from closest to farthest.

3.Browse objects by hovering the cursor over the list items. The corresponding objects will be highlighted alternately in the graphic area.

4.After highlighting the required object, left-click on its name.

5.To exit the picking over mode without pointing to an object, press the <Esc> key.

If enumeration was used to specify an object when executing a command, the system will return to executing that command.
