You can use the version set of an existing model to create a similar version set in another model. To do this, perform the following steps.

1.In the model containing the required versions, call the dialog box Versions control using the command of the same name .

2.In addition to the set of versions, the properties of the versions that are displayed in the dialog table are also written to the file. Therefore, if you want to transfer also the properties of the versions to another model, settings the table display in the required way. It is not possible to disable the Name column.

2.Press Save as... button on the Manager toolbar.

3.In the file saving dialog box that appears specify the folder to save, select the file type ODF spreadsheets (*.ods) or Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (*.xls) and click Save.

The information on model versions will be saved in a file of the specified type.

4.Open the model in which you want to create versions.

5.Call the Versions control dialog box. The Versions page will be active in it.

6.Click the Read from file with lines added button on the dialog toolbar.

7.In the file opening dialog box that appears on the screen, select the required file in ods, xls or xlsx format and click the Open button.

The list of versions from the file will be transferred to the model:

If the model contains only the main version (i.e. the executions have not been created earlier), it will generate the structure of versions the same as in the file from which the list of versions is passed.

If the model contains created versions, all (except the main) versions from the file will be added to the versions existing in the model. At the same time, the presence of versions with the same numbers is not checked, so the numbers of added versions may coincide with the numbers of versions created in the model earlier.
Added versions are placed in the Versions tree and in the Versions control dialog box after the existing ones (dependent after dependent, independent after independent).

As a result of reading the list of versions from the file, the main and added versions are passed the properties that are written in the file. In this case:

The values of the Precision class, Object type, Full file name, Created, Last modified properties are not passed (even though they can be written to the file).

The value of the property BOM section is transferred if it completely coincides with one of the names of sections in a standard specification: Assemblies, Parts, Standard parts, etc.
It is not possible to transfer to a design the information about its belonging to a subsection within a section or to a nested or additional section of the BOM.

The transfer of the Mass and Density properties depends on the CMP calculation method selected for the main model version. All versions added from the file have the same CMP calculation method as the main version.

If the CMP is calculated By mass, the values of the Mass property are passed from the file to the versions. The density value of the main design does not change (even if it is set in the file). The same density is given to the added designs.

If ICC is calculated By density, the values of the Density property are passed from the file to the fulfillments . If the density is not specified in the file (the table does not contain the «Density» column), but the material is specified, the density values for the designs are determined by the material names by searching in the file graphic.dns. If the material is not found in the file, all added designs have the same density as the main one.

Changes in the properties of the main model version are passed to other model versions as described in the section Property changes between versions. Therefore, if at the moment of reading the list of versions from the file there are already versions in the model, their properties may also change after reading the list of versions.

You can add versions from multiple files to the model. The geometry of all added versions corresponds to the geometry of the main version.

Further work with added versions is similar to work with versions created in the model.
