To move a component in an arbitrary direction, use the Move component command.

After the command is invoked, the cursor will change its shape to a four-sided arrow .

Procedure

1.Select the component moving mode by clicking the desired button in the Modes group on the Parameter panel:

Simple Displacement — moving without additional actions,

Auto matings — moving with automatic overlaying of matings,

Collision detection — moving with collision detection of components.

2.Place the cursor on the component to be moved. A face, edge, or vertex of the component, that is under the cursor, is highlighted.

The movement of a component can be restricted, for example, by matings superimposed on it. In this case, the component objects may be highlighted, but no movement is performed.

When moving a component with the Simplified load type , objects under the cursor are not highlighted.  Moving is performed as usual, and the loading type  is switched to Full. Learn more about the types of downloads...

Fixed components cannot be moved. Their objects are not highlighted when you move the cursor. To fix components, see the section Component fixation.

3.Press the left mouse button and, holding it, move the cursor.

If the movement in a given direction is not impeded by fixation and overlaid matings, then the component will move in that direction. When the required position of the component is reached, release the mouse button.

4.To complete operation of the command, click Finish .
