Chain creation subprocess |
Scroll |
The chain creation subprocess is started in operations with sections and for building a surface by a grid of curves. In operations with sections, chains connect points of curves which are contours of sections, and when building a surface by a grid of curves they connect points of the U or V direction curves.
Each point of the chain is characterized by a set of parameters. Their values are displayed in the Parameters of points being connected table on the Parameter Panel.
The table contains the following parameters:
•the relative offset value of the connecting point from the starting point,
•the curve length from its starting point to the connecting point,
•the name of the point object with which the connecting point coincides.
Names of the table rows correspond to names of the curves set for building the object (for a surface by grid of curves, points can also be set instead of extreme curves). Each row contains the parameters of one point of the chain. When specifying a point on a curve or changing its position, the parameter values are displayed in the table. Parameter cells are available for manual entry.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Set the position of the points of the chain pointing them with the mouse on the selected curves. The chain is displayed in the graphic area in the form of characteristic points connected by a dotted line.
If a point object is specified as a connecting point, then an associative link is formed between it and the point. The name of the point object is displayed in the Object cell.
To remove a link, click "x" in the Object cell. .The name of the object will disappear. The point will still coincide with the point object, but will cease to be associated with it. An unlinked point can be freely moved along the curve by dragging it with the mouse.
To create a link again, on the curve select the point object which the chain point should be connected with. The point is aligned with the object, and its name appears in the Object cell.
2.To confirm the chain creation, click Create Object
. Then the system will go back to the initial operation. The name of the created chain will appear in the Chains field on the Parameter Panel.
