Local part and local part-blank editing mode |
Scroll |
If in command Edit component in window a local part or a local blank part is specified as a component (hereinafter, a local blank part is referred to as a «local part»), then the local part editing mode is launched.
In the editing mode, the local part is displayed on a separate tab in the KOMPAS-3D. The tab and its title are colored orange, the title contains the name — «Assembly file name → Local part name», and the mode icon is displayed in the graphic area
.
In the local part editing mode, you can perform almost all the same actions as when editing regular components (only the drawing creation commands and model-based BOMs are not available). All changes are immediately transferred to the assembly from which the local part was opened for editing and are displayed on the tab of this assembly.
In the editing mode, commands for saving a local part are available (they are described in the sections below). The commands are grouped in the File menu and can also be called from the System toolbar. After executing the save commands, the tab with the local part remains active.
To save a local part to a separate file, use the File — Save local part to file command. After calling the command, a standard file save dialog appears on the screen. The model resulting from saving a local part has no connection with the assembly from which it was opened for editing.
Save document-owner and a local part
To save a local part and the assembly from which the local part is opened for editing, call the command File — Save document — owner and local part. As a result of executing the command, changes made to the local part during editing will be written to the assembly file.
Exiting local part editing mode
To exit local part editing mode, click the mode icon in the graphics area or use other methods of closing a document.

The local part editing mode is terminated automatically in the following cases: •the tab with the assembly from which the local part is open for editing is closed, •the local part is deleted from the assembly, •the position of a local part in the assembly structure changes (for example, a local part is moved from an assembly to a subassembly). |
