If during creating a part or assembly 'in place', also when obtaining a part by converting objects It is required to specify the name of the file where the created part (assembly) will be stored and the path to it. For this you should use elements of the Model File group in the Main section of the Parameter Panel.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Choose a file naming convention from the Method of naming drop-down list. The following options are available:

Specify manually,

Designation,

Name,

Designation + Name,

Name + Designation.

The Specify manually method allows you to enter an arbitrary file name. In all other cases, the name is generated automatically. To enter or view the resulting name you use the File name field.

2.Select a folder to save the file. To do this, click the Folder field name and select the desired folder in the dialog that appears on the screen.

If the specified folder already contains a part/assembly file with the same name, the screen will prompt you to overwrite the file.

Press the Yes button to confirm file replacement.

You cannot replace a file if its model is a component of the current model or another open model. In this case, a message appears on the screen stating that the document already exists and the recording is not performed.

The nan button allows you to return to the component creation process, in order to change the file name or select another folder for saving it.
