Basics of working with layer sets
Use of groups of layers allows to change the properties (activity, visibility, option of printing, color) of several layers equally at the same time. For example, it is possible to make all the layers of a group as hidden.
A group may comprise layers of a tile, layers of one or several views of a drawing. One layer may be part of several groups.
On including a layer into a group, the actual properties of this layer are shown. The properties of a layer can be changed as both part of the group, and individually. If properties have been changed outside of the given group, these changes will be shown in the Document tree while viewing group composition.
If a property value is changed for a group, then all layers included in this group will have this property value changed too. More details about changing properties of a layer group...
Adding a layer in the document does not result in automatic addition of this layer in any group. Creation of a layer in a group adds a layer into the document. The created layer is not added to other groups automatically.
While a later is being deleted from a group, it is not deleted from the document. While deleting a layer from the document, it automatically is deleted all groups which contain it.
Groups of layers are named objects. By default, during creation of a group, a name consisting of the word "Group" and the serial is assigned to it. This name can be changed. A layer group in the Document Tree is marked with a special icon
