Automatic scaling of the first sketch |
Scroll |
Scaling the first sketch in the model is a mechanism that allows you to construct a sketch without considering dimensions, maintaining only proportions, and then reduce or enlarge the entire image by setting one dimension.
Scaling is performed automatically for all objects in the first sketch, when you define the first Associative controlling dimension (any, except angular). Scaling coefficient is calculated as relation of specified and initial dimension values. When editing this dimension, as well as when you define next dimensions in the first sketch or any dimensions in other sketches, scaling is not performed.
|
Scaling of the sketch is performed once. That means that even if you delete the first dimension from the sketch and add a new one, sketch won't be scaled again. |
|
In this case to initiate a new scaling operation, you need to enter new dimension value during creation of this dimension. If you keep the same dimension value as was previously used, it basically amounts to scaling with a coefficient 1. Subsequent value changes for existing dimensions do not initiate sketch scaling operations. |
Scaling a sketch involves changing the position of the characteristic points of its objects. Therefore, if the sketch has constraints that prevent this (for example, Projection link), then scaling is not performed. After changing the size value, a message appears stating that scaling is not possible due to constraints. However, if the constraints do not prevent the object being sized, the object itself is re sized.
The first sketch in a model is the one that is above all other sketches in the Design Tree. If the first sketch is deleted from the model, the next sketch becomes the first; if any other sketch by dragging it with a mouse If a sketch is placed above the first one in the Tree, this moved sketch becomes the first sketch in the model. If the sketch that becomes the first one as a result of these actions has not yet been automatically scaled, it will be scaled after the first dimension is applied to this sketch (regardless of whether the sketch that was first previously was scaled).
