Import and export of models |

When working with KOMPAS-3D models, the following options are available:
•Exchange of models (import and export) between KOMPAS-3D and other systems through exchange formats.
Formats for exchanging 3D models
•Importing models from proprietary formats of other CAD systems.
Proprietary formats from which models can be imported
•Reading models from the C3D mathematical core format (*.c3d), as well as writing to this format.
•Recording KOMPAS-3D models v25 in the following formats:
•formats of previous versions of KOMPAS-3D: KOMPAS-3D v23 and KOMPAS-3D v24.
•raster formats (GIF, JPEG, Enhanced Windows Metafile and etc.),
•the format for viewing VRML (*.wrl); the format version is 2.0,
•Portable Document Format (*.pdf).

Import from the proprietary 3D XML format is possible provided that the Extended means of reading proprietary formats component is installed as part of KOMPAS-3D. In case of full installation of KOMPAS-3D this component is installed automatically; in case of selective installation — if the corresponding option is enabled.
