Transformation of objects into layout geometry |
Scroll |
When working with an assembly, you can obtain layout geometry by transforming a component or model objects.
Methods for transforming a component to layout geometry are described below in the current section.
The transformation of model objects into layout geometry is performed in the same way as the transformation of objects into a component. To do this, use the Transform into part and Transform into local part commands/ The only difference is that in order to obtain layout geometry in the process of executing a command, you must enable the Layout geometry option. More details about model object transformation...
Transform component to layout geometry
To transform a component into layout geometry, the following methods are used.
•Specify the required component (or components) in the Design Tree and call the Management – Move to layout geometry command.
•In the Design Tree, drag the component to the Layout geometry section icon. This method is available, if in the Tree, there is a Layout geometry section.
As a result of the transformation, the component acquires properties of the layout geometry and is located on the Layout geometry layer. Its icon is transferred to the Layout geometry section in the Design Tree.
The position of the component objects in the graphic area of the model does not change. However, if the absolute coordinate system of the component does not coincide with any of the coordinate systems of the model, then a local coordinate system will be created in the model.
If necessary, you can perform the inverse transformation – layout geometry into a component. This is possible, if in the Design Tree, there is a Components section. To perform the transformation, drag the desired layout geometry onto the icon of this section.
After transforming a component to layout geometry and vice versa, you need to rebuild a model.
