If the model's mass and center of mass are not specified by the user but are calculated, then after editing the model—which may result in changes to the mass and position of the center of mass—their current values are removed from the model. To obtain new values for the mass and coordinates of the center of mass, you must recalculate the center of mass. This can be done in the following ways:
•manually—using the model's MCS command,
•automatically.
You can configure automatic CMP recalculation in the CMP section of the settings dialog. To access this section, select the Settings — Parameters...
command and in the dialog box that appears, select System — Model editor — CMP calculation.

Description of the setting |
|
Recalculate CMP when saving |
If this option is enabled, the CMP is automatically recalculated when the model is saved. If the option is disabled, recalculation does not occur upon saving. |
|
Recalculate CMP when rebuilding |
When this option is enabled, the CMP is automatically recalculated during rebuilding model. When this option is disabled, recalculation does not occur during model tuning. |
If the model contains a large number of operations, the automatic recalculation of the CMP during its reconstruction and/or saving may take considerable time. To save time, you can disable the automatic recalculation of the CMP in these cases.
When the settings are complete, click the dialog box Apply and close. To exit the dialog box without saving changes, click Cancel.

Please note: the Recycle the CMP when restructuring option disables only the recalculation of the CMP performed during the rebuilding of the model. Automatic recalculation of the MCC in other cases, for example, when calling a command Model properties, it is performed regardless of the state of this option. |
