Associative link with a point object of the model.
point of 3D spline, spline on surface or broken line can be associatively related to a point object of the model. Because of this link, the point on curve will follow the object when the position of the object is changed.
An associative link is created if while setting a curve point you specify a Point Object of the model. The created link is marked with a check mark
in the cell of the column Connection of the point parameters table.
You can use the point object when plotting the curve point using any method: by coordinates, along one of the axes, parallel or perpendicular to the object.
•If the point is plotted by coordinates, it directly coincides with the selected point object.
•If the position of the point is determined by an axis or an object, then the resulting point will coincide with the projection of the selected point object to the point plotting line.
In both cases the link to the point object remains until it is explicitly deleted. The link remains intact if you choose another point plotting method.
E. g. a point is plotted by coordinates and is associatively linked with a point object of the model (directly coincides with it). If you select the Along X axis plotting method when editing this point, the curve will be rebuilt so that this point would coincide with the projection of the point object onto the axis X.
And vice versa: if the point was coinciding with the projection of the point object prior to editing, then, if you switch the plotting method to By coordinates, the point will coincide with the point object itself.
Associative link with a specially plotted point.
When plotting a point of a 3D spline or broken line you can specify its position using By Coordinates method by building a special point. An associative link is formed between this curve point and the specially plotted point.
The created link is marked with a special mark
in the cell of the Connection column in point parameters table.
If the position of the specially plotted point is changed, the position of the linked point is changed as well.

Please note that all points created when plotting a curve, are stored within this curve and are not displayed in the model Design Tree. These points are edited when editing the curve that contains these points. |
You can delete the associative link of curve point with point object of the model and with the specially plotted point.
You can delete the link using one of the following methods:
•Click the link icon with the point object
or the link icon with the specially plotted point
in the corresponding cell of the points parameters table,
•select the curve point and click the "X" icon in the Snap Point field,
•select the curve point and click the Delete Link
button above the point parameters table (the button appears only when a point with an associative link is selected).
Using the Delete link button, you can also delete the associative link from a group of curve points. Select the necessary rows in the table of point parameters using the key or the combination keys + , and then press the button.
|
The Delete Link button is unavailable during the construction of spline on surface. |
If you delete the link with the point object of the model, the point on curve will still coincide with the point object but won’t be linked to it. The point coordinates remain intact.
If you delete the link between the curve point and the specially plotted point, this specially plotted point is automatically deleted.

A deleted link cannot be restored. To restore a link with a point object of a model, please edit the point and select the point object again. To restore a link to a specially plotted point, plot this point again. |
