Each title block and each detailing has a number that is assigned to the title block or detailing when it is created.

The number is a unique feature of the title block (detailing).

The same library cannot contain two title blocks with the same numbers. This is due to the fact that it is by its number that the title block is included in the detailing.

The same library cannot contain two detailing types with the same numbers. This is due to the fact that when a detailing is assigned to a document, a reference to this detailing appears in it. The link includes the following information: the full name of the library and the detailing number from it.

In addition, the detailing number assigned to the document is important for compatibility with previous versions, as well as for developing applications for KOMPAS-3D using language toolkits. Numbers 1 to 100 are reserved for standard detailing types, so when creating new detailing, it is recommended to set numbers starting from 101.

The numbers of the main labels and detailing types containing in the library may be the same or different — it does not matter. For example, in the Graphic.lyt library the numbers of the title blocks coincide with the numbers of the detailing types using them, but this is done only for convenience.

When an attempt is made to place in the library the main inscription (by creating or copying), the number of which coincides with the number of one of the basic captions in this library, a warning dialog appears on the screen. This dialog is similar dialog-warning on presence of a style in the library. It also contains the names of library objects (in this case, title blocks) that have the same numbers, and control buttons.

When a new or copied detailing is placed in the library, it first checks for the presence of the copied title block in this library, and then the copied detailing.

If the library has an object (title block or detailing) that matches the added object both by number and by name, the screen will ask you to overwrite the object — replacing the old object with a new one. You can confirm the overwrite, or cancel it.

If the probability of detailing exchange between multiple libraries is large enough, then you need to ensure that all detailing types (as well as title blocks) in these libraries have different numbers. This will help to avoid the above mentioned conflicts.
