The text part of the BOM item is the information added to the BOM table lines. For example, items shown in Fig. BOM objects, contain text parts «H02 AECT 620840.200SB Assembly Drawing», «H04 AECT 620840.200PS Passport», «H03 1 AECT 620840.210 Level Indicator 1», «H04 2 AECT 620840.220 Pump 1», «H02 4 AECT 620840.201 Body 1», and so on.

The methods for entering and editing text parts are almost the same that the methods for working with texts on a drawing. The user can do the formatting of the font and paragraph, insert fractions, indexes, over and substrings, special characters, symbols and predefined text.

In addition, when creating some items with standardized text, templates of filling the text part are used. Filling templates are a specific mechanism used only when working with BOM items.
