Merging components into a subassembly |
Scroll |
You can combine several components of the current model into a subassembly.
You can combine only components of the first level, i.e. inserted directly into the current model, but not into any of its subassemblies.
The merging creates a new assembly file (*.a3d) containing the components of the current model specified for the merge. The new assembly is inserted into the current model as a subassembly, and its components are removed from the model. Files of these components on the disk do not change.
The absolute coordinate system of the new subassembly is the same that the absolute coordinate system of the current model.
To merge components into a subassembly, select them in the Design Tree and call the Merge in sub-assembly command from the context menu. In the standard file saving dialog box specify the folder and name of the assembly file to be written, and then click Save. The dialog will close.
To save changes in the current model, run the File - Save
command.
