Using insertion layers |
Scroll |
The master document received all the objects of the source document, both from visible layers and the hidden layers. The visibility of the objects in the master document depends on the status of the layers in this document and does not depend on the status of the layers in the source document.
Fragment insertion objects may be placed in the current layer of the master document and in the layers with the same numbers as in the fragment being inserted. To select the required option, use the Location group of buttons:
To current layer — the entire image is located on one (current) layer of the fragment or view of the drawing.
To Source Layers — objects are allocated in the document on layers with the same numbers as in the inserted fragment.
If the document contains the required layers, they won't be affected (even if they are different from the status of the layers in the fragment being inserted). Missing layers will be created and will have the same status as the corresponding layers in the fragment being inserted. Depending on the placement method, these layers will be empty or will contain the insertion objects.
If you don't want the changes of the visibility of a layer with fragment insertion objects to impact the visibility of the rest of the document, make sure this layer contains no other objects, except for the insertion objects. You can do it the following way. Before creating the insertion, assign numbers to the layers in the source document. These numbers should be different from the numbers of the layers of the fragment or view where the insertion will take place. After the insertion, the master document will have new layers for the insertion objects.
View insertion
In the Drawing tree, the layers of the view insertion are displayed within the insertion itself.
All the layers of the view insertion are always active, you cannot make them background layers.
You cannot set any view insertion layer as current layer.
View insertion layers cannot be copied to other views, added to groups or filtered.
