Autofit sheet scale |
Scroll |
Autofitting the scale of the document sheets is the automatic adjustment of the scale so that the sheets would fit the print pages; after scaling, the sheets are automatically placed on the print page.
The scale is autofit when you enter the preview mode and when you add document sheets to the preview mode.
|
Autofit is not applied when loading a print job file. |
To enable autofit, use the Auto-fit on entering print preview option in the print setup dialog, see. Figure.
The process of autofitting the scale of the sheets includes the following steps:
1.Checking the dimensions of the sheets.
The dimensions of the sheets should satisfy one of the following conditions:
•sheet dimensions are equal,
•corresponding sheet dimensions (height, width) are equal or are multiples of each other.
|
If you use autofit for multi-sheet drawings, the software may change the orientation of the sheets to ensure the multiplicity factor of the respective dimensions. |
If none of these conditions is satisfied, the autofit process is canceled.
2.Calculating the scale of the sheets.
3.Verifying the resulting scale.
The resulting scale is subject to the following restrictions:
•maximum: default scale (defined at print parameters setup, see section Print Settings);
•minimum: 0.94 of the default scale.
If the resulting scale is less than minimum, the autofit process is canceled.
If the resulting scale is greater than maximum, the default scale is used for the sheets.
4.Automatic placement of sheets on the print pages.
The left bottom corner of the first sheet is located in the print field point with coordinates 0,0.
Every next sheet, if there is enough space for it on the current page, is placed to the right of the previous sheet (with a gap if the gap between sheets is enabled); if the current page is full, the next sheet is placed in the bottom left corner of the next print page.
When you add documents to preview, their sheets are placed in the same was as the sheets of a multi-sheet document.
Autofit gives the best results in the following conditions:
•the size of the sheet approximately matches the size of the print page (e. g. both sheet format and print page format are A4),
•it is possible to set such a scale what the vertical or horizontal size of the sheet would be a multiple of the respective size of the print page, that is, you can print the document on an integer number of pages (for example, you can print an A3 sheet on two A4 pages).
•it is possible to set such a scale what the total vertical or horizontal size of several sheets would be equal to the respective size of the print page, that is, you can print the an integer number of documents on one page (for example, you can print eight A4 sheets on one A1 page).
|
If the gap between the sheets is enabled in the print settings, then the gap is taken into account when calculating the scale of the sheets. |
