General Procedure of Working with Variables |

The following operating procedure is recommended for handling variables.
Initially, create user variables on the Variables toolbar . These variables will be used for setting the values of variables for operation parameters of a model and of dimension variables for graphic documents and sketches.
When working with a graphic document, create variables of dimensions.
When working with a model, create variables of dimensions for sketches. Variables of operation parameters of a model are created automatically while running operations.

In your future work, you can add and delete user variables and variables of dimensions for graphic documents and sketches. Variables of parameters of model operations are added and deleted automatically. Also you can edit variables in different ways. |
Use variables to control the geometry of a model or image. To do this, set values of variables.
Assigning values to variables results in the change of dimension values in a graphic document or sketch, and numerical parameters of operations in a model.
When working with a drawing, the views of a drawing (except the current) containing the dimensions whose values have changed are marked with icon 
in the Design Tree. When working with a model, icons of operations with changed parameters and of sketches containing dimensions with changed values are marked with icon in the Design Tree. It means that the changes you have made have not yet been transferred to a drawing/model.
To rebuild a drawing/model, run the Rebuild command 
on the Quick Access Bar. The image will be rebuilt with the new values of dimensions and/or operation parameters.

The rebuilding command should only be run in case if the status of a variable has changed, for example, if the "info" status was assigned or canceled for a user variable. |
The current view of a drawing and the image in a fragment are rebuilt automatically, without running this command, immediately after setting the value of the next variable.
The image in the sketch is also automatically rebuilt if the value of the variable is set when working with the sketch.
