While building or editing a multiline, two modes of operation are possible – Creation and Edit.
After calling the command to create a multiline, the Creation mode is active, and when editing a previously created multiline, the mode Edit is active.
In Creation mode the baseline segments are created.
Edit mode is used to change the baseline configuration. In this mode, the following actions are available:
•change the position of the baseline vertices,
•add vertices to created segments,
•delete vertices,
•change the method of passing the corner near the vertex.
In the process of building a multiline, you can switch between operation modes. To do this, use Creation/Edit toggle switch. It is available if the multiline has at least one segment.
In addition, the system automatically switches to edit mode when the mouse selects the baseline vertex.
To select the baseline vertex, move the cursor to it. When the cursor takes a form of a quadrilateral arrow
, click the left mouse button. The vertex will be highlighted, and its coordinates will be displayed in the Current point field on the Parameter Panel.
You can return to the creation mode by clicking the mouse outside the phantom of the multiline.
Repositioning a vertex
To change the position of the baseline vertices, use the following methods:
•Dragging a vertex with the mouse.
Click on the desired vertices and specify its new position.
•Change the coordinates of the vertices.
Click the desired vertex and enter its coordinates in the Current point field.
Add vertex
To add a vertex to the baseline segment, click on it with the mouse. When plotting a multiline, the baseline is displayed as a solid black line, and the multiline lines are shown as a black dotted line.
A new vertex will appear in the place of the click, dividing the segment into two parts. This vertex will be current, and its coordinates will be displayed in the Current point field on the Parameter Panel.
For the new vertex, the current corner passing methodwill be used.
Deleting a vertex
To delete a vertex of the baseline, select it and press the key <Delete>. The vertex disappears, and the multiline rearranges according to the position of the remaining vertices.
•When deleting the end vertex of a multiline, its corresponding segment is deleted.
•When deleting any other vertex of a multiline, segments adjacent to it are also deleted. Instead, a straight-line segment is inserted into the multiline.
After deleting the vertex of the single-segment multiline, the system automatically switches to Creation mode.
