All arrays except operation arrays can be exploded into separate instances.

To do this, select arrays to be exploded in the Design Tree and invoke the Explode command in Explode menu.

To explode one array you may use Explode command from the array context menu in the Design tree.

After you start the command, the explosion dialog box appears on the screen. To confirm explosion, click the Explode button in this dialog box.

Array explosion rules

Array explosion is performed according to following rules.

Icons of exploded array and its instances are removed from Design Tree.

Objects which constituted the array are displayed in the Build tree as separate model objects.

Objects which constituted the array remain on the same positions and retain the same parameters they had while in the array.

Objects corresponding to removed instances of the array that has been exploded are not added into the model.

If an array is exploded that was a source array for another (derivative) array, this derivative array is exploded as well. On the contrary, if derivative array is exploded, then source array is not affected.

For an array of components:

Components that constituted the array are fixed in the same position in which they were in the array.

Components that constituted the array are placed in Design Tree so as if they were added to the model instead of array creation (you can see this by enabling the Displaying Model Design Sequence in the Tree).

Type of objects obtained as the result of array explosion

Types of objects that appear as the result of explosion depend on types of source objects of the array.

The following table lists results of explosion for objects of all types except the Arbitrary. If this object type was selected during array construction, then after explosion objects that constituted the array are converted into objects completely identical to source objects.

Constructive Plane

A perpendicular plane (the position of the point through which the plane goes and the direction of the vector to which it is perpendicular are determined automatically).

Constructive Axis

An axis though the vertex by object (the position of the point through which the axis goes and the direction of the vector to which it is parallel are determined automatically).
