All dimensions, captions and designations that meet the conditions specified in section Conditions for generation of projection designations in views, however, some of them may be automatically hidden. Therefore, if you can’t see the required projection designations on the drawing, check the setup of their visibility.

Most frequent are cases in which projection designations are automatically hidden are represented below.

If the dimension, caption or designation (except designation of a thread) is hidden in the model, then the respective projection designation is hidden in the associative view.

If a new projection designation is a duplicate of already existing, then it is hidden. For example, while building a leader element the projection designations in it are created but are not shown since they are already shown in the reference view.

The projection designation whose snap points belong to the lines of invisible boundary is displayed in the view if display of these lines is enabled in it. If the display of hidden lines is disabled, then the projection designation is displayed only if its snap points are projected precisely on the line of the visible boundary. To learn about configuring display of invisible contour lines in the view, see section Lines.

To control the display of projection designations in a drawing, the Show Hidden Symbols command is used. It allows to enable and disable the display of projection designations. Operation of the command is described in detail below.

Enabling/disabling the display of projection designation in a view does not affect the display of the respective object in the model. On the contrary, enabling/disabling the display of dimension or designation in the model does not affect the display of the respective projection designation in the associative view of this model.
