Number of array instances and spacing

Scroll

When building an array by grid, you can specify number of instances and spacing for each of grid axes.

Grid formation schema...

The elements for setting grid parameters (number of instances and distances between them) are located in the Array Parameters section of the Parameter Panel: for the first axis, they are in the Direction 1 group, and for the second axis, they are in the Direction 2 group.

To set the number of instances placed along the axis, enter the required value in the Instances by direction field. Value entered includes the base instance.

When number of instances is greater than one, spacing setting elements appear on the Parameter Toolbar alongside corresponding axis.

To set the spacing by axis (i.e. distance between instances being placed), do the following.

1.Choose method for setting a pitch with buttons of Distance between group.

The distance between adjacent instances is defined by the spacing between corresponding points of adjacent instances along the axis. This option is convenient when you need to place a certain number of instances with a given spacing between each other.

Terminal instances — the distance between corresponding points of the first and last instance along the axis is specified. This option is convenient when you need to place certain number of instances on a fixed length segment.

2.Enter the pitch value in the field Distance 1/Distance 2.
