Setting the position of a base point of a base instance

Scroll

Determining the position of the Base point of the base instance Is executed when building the following arrays:

Array by concentric grid,

Array by Path,

Array by points,

Array by Table.

Position of the base point of the base instance of the array can be determined automatically or set manually. To set the position of the base point, use elements of group Base point in the Array Parameters section of Parameter Panel.

By default, the system determines the base point position automatically: the base point of the copied object is set as the base point of the base instance (see section Base point of a 3D object). In this case field Point of the group Base point contains Auto determination message.

To manually set the position of the base point, activate the Point field and select the required point object in the Design Tree or in the graphic area of the model (the point objects are listed in the table). Model object types). Name of the selected object appears in the Point field.

If you need to return to auto determination of the base point, delete the name of selected point from the Point field.

Notes on auto determination of base point of the base instance for revolved solids and revolution surfaces

If source object for array construction is a revolution operation, a solid created by this operation or a revolution surface, then during auto determination not the base point of the object being copied but its projection to the rotation axis of the object being copied is used as the base point of the base instance. At this time option On rotation axis is enabled on the Parameter Panel.

You can opt not to use projection if needed. To do this, disable the On rotation axis option. After this the base point of the object being copied will be used for array construction.
