The guiding object is defined in the following ways:
•automatically,
•indication of an existing object,
•vector construction.
Automatically
The guiding object is selected automatically in the following cases:
•The section is a sketch/sketch area — the same sketch/the sketch containing the specified area is selected as a guiding object.
•The section is a flat face — the same flat face is selected as a guiding object.
•The section is a contour built by a sketch or on a flat face — the corresponding sketch or face is selected as a guiding object.
|
If a section comprises several objects including the sketches (sketch areas), flat faces and contours listed above, the guiding object is selected automatically when you specify the first object of this type. When the subsequent objects are specified, the guiding object is not changed. |
If you need to change the guiding object, specify it manually or build a vector. These actions are described below.
Specifying an existing object.
The guiding object for extrusion can be:
•Straight-line object — extrusion is performed parallel to the specified object,
•Flat object — extrusion is performed perpendicular to the plane of the specified object.
The list of flat and straight-line objects is provided in the table.
To change the guiding object, use elements of the Main section of the Parameter Panel.
To select an existing object as a guide, click in the Guiding object field in the Main section of the Parameter Panel and select the desired object in the Design Tree or in the graphic area. The name of the selected object will appear in the field of the same name.
Vector construction.
To construct a vector, press the Build Vector
button to the right of the Guiding Object field. The process of vector construction will start. Perform the necessary actions for construction and press the Create Object button. The system will return to the extrusion process, the created vector will be automatically selected as a guiding object.
