Model editing using the Indicator of build completion |
Scroll |
Using the Indicator of model build completion (see section Indicator of model build completion) you can conditionally delete objects from the model. You can also use the Indicator to change the model build sequence.
|
You can use the Indicator for editing if the Tree displays the model creating sequence (see section Displaying Model Design History in the Tree). |
Move the Indicator so that it splits the Design Tree into two parts.
You will see that objects that appear below the Indicator are grayed out and marked with a "lock" icon. These are preliminarily deleted objects. Information about them is not removed from the document, however these objects, as well as their derivatives, are not displayed in the model graphic range.
To quickly move the Pointer to the end of the Design Tree, you can use the Pointer to end of Tree command from the context menu of any object located below the Pointer. After calling this command, all preliminarily deleted model objects will be restored. The model is rebuilt to reflect the restored objects.
|
Please note that if arrays are preliminarily deleted then changes in the properties (e.g. color) of instances facets will be lost. E.g. restoring arrays will mean building arrays from scratch with default properties of facets. |
While working with the model, you can move the Indicator of build completion as many times as you want. The icons of the newly created objects will be located in the Design Tree in front of the Indicator.
This feature of the Indicator of build completion as well as the fact that preliminarily deleted objects are not displayed on the screen and cannot be used in builds, can be conveniently used to change the model construction sequence.
For example, to edit a part obtained using the mirror copying operation you should make changes to the original half of it; changes should be positioned before the copying operation. However, there are certain things to remember. Firstly, both halves of the parts look exactly the same. Secondly, when editing you can accidentally use the objects of the copied half of the part, which will inevitably lead to an error. In such cases it is advisable to move the Indicator of build completion so that the mirroring operation and all subsequent operations are preliminarily removed from the model. Only the original half of the part remains on the screen. You can edit it at your discretion. After restoring the copy operation, the second half of the part will also contain the changes made.
If you need to delete model objects located under the Indicator of build completion, run the Delete objects below Rollback Bar command from the context menu of any of these objects. This command deletes all objects under the Indicator.
After invoking the command the warning dialog will appear on the screen, which lists all the model objects to be deleted. You can either cancel or confirm the deletion.
