The CMP of a solid or a component being an instance of an array (hereinafter — the object) can be changes in the same way as the CMP of any other similar object.

More details on setting CMP...

An additional option is transfer of the source object CMP to the array instance, i.e. resetting the initial values. To that end, option By copy source data is used in the list Method of calculation sectionMCH Calculation Parameter panel. This option is available in the list only when working with properties of a solid or a component which is an array instance.

The option By copy source data is selected by default. It means that the center of mass properties of the instance object coincide with the specifications of the copied object and all changes in CMP of the copied component will be transferred to the instance object.

Changing the method for defining the CMP of an instance does not influence other instances of the array.

Please note that selecting the By source data option for an array instance means obtaining its CMP parameters from the source file of the copied component or solid. At the same time, any setting of CMP parameters of the copied object in the current file may be used.

For example, mass of a component in its file was calculated based on its density. After the component was inserted in an assembly, a mass different from the calculated value was set for it manually, and then an array of these components was created. Immediately after the array is created, its instances will have the same mass as the source object, i.e. the mass set manually (as the default calculation option is By copy source data). If the properties of a particular instance are changed by selecting the method of calculating the Mass Calculation By Source Data, then this instance will have a calculated mass.

The same applies for an array of solids: if the mass of a solid was set manually, then for an instance of the solids array, option By copy source data will mean the same (i.e., manually set) mass, and option By source data will mean the mass calculated according to the density set in the model properties.
