Ways to select objects included in the operation application area |
Scroll |
The method of forming a set of objects that make up the operation application area is selected using the Objects group buttons of the Application area sections. All available methods are described below.
|
The operation application area can include either solids, or components, or both. It depends on the type of objects selected. Details... |
Auto Determination method
The Automatic determination method is available for all operations for which an application area is specified, except for creation operations. array of arbitrary objects.
When automatically determining the area of application, the system automatically generates a list of objects with which the created operation element intersects. Intersection search is performed among all objects (solids and / or components), except those that are hidden and excluded from the calculation.
Intersection Detection and generation of the list is performed during completion of the operation. The resulting list is fixed and remains unchanged if the model is edited. Intersections are subsequently looked for the objects from this list. Option Auto Determination switches to Selected Objects (see below).
If you want to change the set of objects that make up the operation application area, edit the list manually. To do this, enter the operation editing mode. The list is displayed in the Components and solids field Application area sections.
|
Enabling the display of solids that were hidden at the time of the operation, does not change the area of its application. Therefore, if you work with intersecting solids, it is recommended to hide those that are not included in the area of application during the execution of operations. |
All objects method
Method All objects are included in the continuous automatic search for intersections of the element created by the operation with all objects (solids and/or components), except those that are hidden and excluded from the calculation. In this case, the list of objects included in the area is not formed.
This method allows you to automatically adjust the operation application area according to changes made in the model.
|
When choosing All objects method for the Section command parts of objects that directly intersect the cut surface, as well as solids that are entirely located on the same side of the cut surface, are removed from the model. |
All except from library method
Method All except from library consists of constant automatic search for intersections of an element created by the operation with all objects (bodies and/or components), except those hidden and excluded from the calculation, as well as those embedded from applications (for example, fasteners embedded from the Standard Products application).
This method allows you to automatically adjust the operation application area (and accordingly change the shape of objects) when editing the model. At the same time, the shape of objects from application libraries does not change, even if they intersect with the element created by the operation. This allows you to effectively use this method when building assemblies.
Method Selected objects
The Selected Objects method allows you to manually specify the objects that must be included in the operation application area, i.e., to select specific objects that will be modified as a result of the operation. The remaining objects, even if they intersect with the element created by the operation, will remain unchanged.
The resulting set of objects is displayed in the field Components and solids. It can include objects that intersect and do not intersect the element created by the operation. If there is an intersection, the volume of the created element is added to the object, or the volume obtained by intersecting the object and the element is cut from it. An object that has no intersection with an element is present in the list of selected objects, but it retains its original form. If, as a result of editing the model, the element and the object of the list become overlapping, the shape of the object automatically changes.
To include the desired object (solid and / or component) in the area, specify it in the graphics area or in the Design Tree.
When selecting components, the following objects are available:
•parts,
•sub-assemblies,
•library components,
•copies of the components as part of the arrays.
|
The highlighted subassembly is always included in the operation application area along with all its components. Therefore, if you want to include only some subassembly components in the application area, specify only them, making sure that the subassembly itself is not selected. |
The generated list of objects is not updated automatically. Editing the list is done manually.
