Solids consisting of separate parts |
Scroll |
Solid bodies in the KOMPAS-3D model can consist of several unrelated parts. For example, such a solid can be obtained by extruding a sketch which contains several contours.
It is also possible the separation of solids into parts as a result of the cutting or cutting operation. For example, by inserting a workpiece into a part, you can cut out material from it so that only those parts of the workpiece that are required to build the part remain.
In the Design Tree, special icons are used, symbolizing the presence of solids from several parts:
•the
sign to the right of the model icon – attribute meaning that the model contains solids made up of separate portions,
•the
sign to the right of the operation icon – attribute meaning that the process of modifying the set of body portions was launched during the operation,
•the
icon of split body and the
sign on the right indicate that the body consists of individual parts.

The context menu called in the Design Tree on the icon of a model or solid with a sign of several parts, as well as the context menu called in the graphic area of the model with solids of parts, contains the Attention command. After calling this command, a message appears on the screen about the presence of solids from several parts. |
The solid, consisting of parts, can be made whole, using one of two ways:
1.Modify the sketches or parameters of the operations that form the solids of the parts, so that each solid contains one part. In this case, all signs of the presence of several parts of the solid will disappear from the Design Tree.
2.Create any new elements connecting the parts of the solids. In this case, only those signs of the presence of parts that relate to the solids and the model will disappear from the Design Tree, and special icons on the operation icons will remain.

In a sheet solid consisting of parts, you cannot create new bends, change the state of existing bends or cap bends. To enable execution of these operations, it is necessary to make the solid integer. |
