When you plot a 3D spline or broken line You can select the coordinate systems, relative to which the spline (broken line) will be located.

The coordinates of a spline (broken line) points are set in the selected coordinate system. When plotting by axes, the plotting lines of the spline points (segments of the broken line) are parallel to the axes of this coordinate system.

The name of the coordinate system used for plotting is displayed in the SC field in the Coordinate System section on the Parameter Panel. If a model contains several coordinate systems, the SC field will contain the list of the coordinate systems. Select the desired coordinate system from the list. By default, the current coordinate system is used for plotting.

You can create a local coordinate system is needed without interrupting the process of plotting a spline (broken line). To do this, click the Build LCS button next to the SC field. The software will switch to creating a local coordinate system. The actions in the subprocess are similar to the actions when creating the LCS using special command.

Specify LCS parameters and click the Create object button. The software will go back to creating the spline (curve).

The local coordinate system you’ve created is added to the model Design Tree, becomes the current coordinate system and is selected as the coordinate system for the new spline (broken line).
