The Parameter Panel is used to do the following:
•control over the command execution process,
•change of parameters of the object selected in graphic region.
If no object is selected and no command has been started, the Parameter Panel is empty.
By default, the Parameter Panel is docked to the left-hand border of the graphic region.
The Parameter Panel consists of three regions:
•Heading area – located in the upper part of the Parameter Panel. Contains the name of the panel and the button
.
Depending on the type of document and whether the command is running, additional control elements may appear in the title area.
The color of the heading area on the Parameter Panel is an indicator of the operation mode. For example, in the mode of spacing of assembly assets, the heading of the Parameter Panel is dark blue, in the sketch mode – green, in the mode of editing technical requirements – orange.
•Main area – located below the heading area. Contains elements for setting the parameters and properties of an object.
•Messages area – located in the bottom part of the Parameter Panel. Contains system messages related to execution of the current command or to that element of graphic region to which the cursor points. Display of the messages area can be disabled by clicking the x sign in its right-hand part. To enable display of this area again, run the Show Tooltip command from the
button menu in the title area.
The description of these areas in various operating modes of the Parameter Panel is presented in sections Parameter Panel on running a command and Parameter Panel on changing the object parameters.
