Point at the Intersection of Objects

Scroll

It is possible to create a point at the intersection of two objects: lines or a line and a surface. The following can be objects:

axes,

3D curves and their segments,

edges,

sketch lines,

faces,

planes.

In order for a point to be plotted, the selected objects should have a finite number of intersections. Note that an axis or plane can be extended to the intersection point with the second object, and objects of other types should intersect directly.

Use the Point on intersection command to create a point at the intersection of two objects.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Specify the first and then the second reference objects. Their names will appear in the fields Object 1 and Object 2. Objects can be specified in the Model tree or in the graphic area. A multi-segment curve and a sketch plane can be specified only in the Tree.

A phantom of the intersection point of objects is displayed in the graphic area.

2.If objects have several intersection points, select the desired option using the Next Result and Previous Result buttons in the Result Selection group. Clicking buttons of this group will display alternately intersection points of objects in the graphic area.

3.Advanced plotting options.

You can select a coordinate system relative to which a point will be located. To do that, use the Coordinate System section. Details...

You can change the name, color and style of the point display. To do that, use the Properties section.

4.To complete the operation, click Create an object .

A point appears in the graphics area, and its icon in the Construction Tree.

5.To complete operation of the command, click Finish .
