The File — Open with verification command searches for and fixes errors in the file being opened. In some cases, it lets you to:
•Open a KOMPAS document that cannot be opened in the usual way (the message "Invalid file structure..." is displayed, or no message appears, but abnormal termination occurs in KOMPAS-3D).
•Fix a model with operations without history that is incorrectly – without some faces or ribs – displayed, highlighted, or projected into a drawing. To solve this problem, before invoking the Open with verification command, it is necessary to create the file Kompas.ini, and within it — the [RestoreShells] section with the RestoreName key. Details...
• Correct the following errors in KOMPAS documents:
• related to matings of components in assembly:
• matings cannot be created,
• matings cannot be deleted,
• matings are not displayed or displayed incorrectly in the Model Tree,
• associated with designations and names:
• it is impossible to set the designation and name for the model,
• dependent versions have the same designation due to a match of fill numbers,
• the designation of the component in the Tree is incorrect,
• the names of the standard products are not displayed,
• cannot be derived from the source of component designations and names, including local components,
•designations and names of solids are lost; in this case, recovery is not possible - after opening with verification, the solids are given the default names Solid1, Solid2, etc.
•there are no user defined designations; in this case, they cannot be restored: after opening with verification, default numbers are assigned to versions,
• related to the sketches:
• is incorrectly displayed in the Tree to determine how well defined the sketch is,
• you can't select a sketch to perform an operation,
• failure of trying to edit sketch in component.
• failure to call the command Remove invalid projection links,
• related to displaying model objects:
• the objects selected in the Tree are incorrectly highlighted in the model window.
• objects in the Tree do not exist in the graphical area,
• objects in the graphic area do not exist in the Tree,
• related to the setup of the graphical document:
• incomplete list of objects for which auto-sorting is available in the auto-sorting setting dialog,
• incomplete list of arrows in the linear dimensions arrow filter configuration dialog,
• related to the rendering of the graphical document:
• the text is condensed even though the Width parameter value is 100%,
• when you wrap the technical requirements text to next, the part of the link found on the other line is black instead of dark blue,
• plain text between two adjacent links in technical requirements is dark blue as opposed to black,
• the objects are missing in the graphical area because their coordinate position values are out of bounds (by opening with verification, the incorrect coordinates are changed to 0 and the objects are visible),
• incorrect display of bounding pads,
• related to the drawing technical requirements:
• technical requirements cannot be displayed or edited in the drawing,
• an error occurred while trying to edit, place, or synchronize technical requirements,
• the inability to pass on the sketch change from the master version to the dependent one,
•the "Lost Link to variable" error in the model without specifying the variable name,
• the impossibility of saving information about the selected detailing in the drawing,
• impossibility to export a graphical document to DXF or DWG format,
• there are several current layers or multiple layers with the same number,
• incorrect position of texts and/or designations after zooming in or when inserting an image from another drawing to a different zoom view (in the latter case, open with verification and save the source drawing).

Once a model is opened with verification, it generally needs to be rebuilt; loss of links between objects is possible in this process. |

Before you open files with verification, we recommend the following: •create copies of files, •remove protection from files protected with KOMPAS Protection. |
