To calculate the area, center of mass coordinates, axial and centrifugal moments of inertia for 2D shapes, use the CMP Calculation of 2D Shapes command .

Step-by-step instructions

1.Configure the position of LCS in one of the following ways:

click in the graphics area,

enter the coordinates in the Position of LCS field of the Parameter Panel.

2.Set the borders of the shape for calculating the CMP. For this purpose specify a closed curve, build a contour or a broken line. Details...

3.In the Object properties dialog select whether this line is a solid border or a hole border.

The result of the mass-inertia properties calculation for a shape will be displayed in the Information window. The default parameters are used for the calculation.

4.If necessary, change the parameters for CMP calculation. Details...

The results in the Information window will be recalculated.

5.Set all the borders of the shape and holes in it.

These lines will be highlighted in the graphics area with color, and the whole shape will be highlighted with fill.

Border names are displayed in the Objects field. If you want to exclude any borders from the calculation delete such borders from the Objects field.

After adding/deleting a border, the mass-inertia properties of the shape in the Information window will be recalculated.

6.If required save or print the calculation results using the buttons in the Information window.

7.To finish the current calculation and move to the next one click Start new calculation .

8.To complete the command execution, click Finish on the Parameters panel or close the Information window.
