To calculate CMP for a revolved solid (or its sector) with a specified cross-section, use the CMP Calculation of Revolved Solids command.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Configure the position of LCS in one of the following ways:

click in the graphics area,

enter the coordinates in the Position of LCS field of the Parameter Panel.

2.Set the boundaries of the solid cross-section with the XOY plane. For this purpose specify a closed curve, build a contour or a broken line. Details...

3.In the Object properties dialog appeared, select whether the specified line is the boundary of a solid or a hole. For solids you can also configure the density and arc aperture angle.

In the Information window, the result of center of mass properties calculation for the solid appears:

mass and volume;

center of gravity coordinates;

plane, axial and centrifugal moments of inertia.

The default parameters are used for the calculation.

4.If necessary, change the parameters for CMP calculation. Details...

The results in the Information window will be recalculated.

5.Set all the borders of the cross-section shape and holes in it.

These lines will be highlighted in the graphics area with color, and the whole shape will be highlighted with fill.

Border names are displayed in the Objects field. If you want to exclude any borders from the calculation delete such borders from the Objects field.

After adding/deleting a cross-section border, the mass-inertia properties of the solid in the Information window will be recalculated.

6.If required, save or print the calculation results using the buttons in the Information window.

7.To finish the current calculation and move to the next one click Start new calculation .

8.To complete the command, click Finish on the Parameters panel, or close the Information window.
