When working with items of a drawing/assembly BOM in the subordinate mode, you can specify the items to be displayed in the BOM (after the current document is attached to it). To do this, use the Apply in Current BOM Description option in the Object Settings section on the Parameter Panel.

By default, this option is enabled for all BOM items, both created automatically and manually. This means that all of them will be displayed in the BOM. If any of the items should not be displayed, disable this option from such item. The item will be removed from the table.

If you need to return an excluded item, click Show all excluded objects button on the Management toolbar. All items that are non–applicable in the current description will be displayed in the BOM table. Enable the Apply in Current BOM Description option for the required item. The item will switch from non–applicable to applicable. To return to working with the applicable items, depress the Show all excluded objects button.

If you plan to attach the document to several BOMs of different styles, each of which should display its own set of items, you should create BOM descriptions with the desired styles in the document. Then, when making a particular description current, configure a set of items for it using the Apply in Current BOM Description option.

E.g. for the same assembly you can create a normal BOM and list of purchased products. BOM items that are not purchased products should be excluded from the set of items displayed in the list.

Please note that changing the applicability is possible only in the subordinate mode. This operation cannot be performed in a BOM document (*.spw). If you need to change the set of displayed items after attaching the drawing/assembly to the BOM, perform the following steps:

1.Open the document attached to the BOM.

2.If there are several BOM descriptions in the document, make sure that the description that contains the style of the BOM for which you want to change the set of displayed items is current. Otherwise make the relevant description current.

3.Go to the subordinate mode of working with the BOM items and configure applicability of the items.

4.Save the document and open (or enable) the BOM.

5.If the BOM was closed, then the rebuild request will be displayed when opening the BOM. Click "Yes" in this request. If the BOM was opened, the request will not be displayed — when the BOM is activated, the data in it will be updated automatically.
