The method of grouping layers in the current graphic document is set up in the Group layers dialog. The dialog is opened with the command Settings — Parameters... — Current drawing/fragment — Layer grouping.

The option allows to create and use groups of layers and filters of layers. |

Grouping layer properties |
The option allows to create and use groups of layer properties. With the option enabled, available is the Inherit parent item structure option. |

Inherit parent item structure |
The option allows for automatically enabling layers of the parent object into a group of properties of layers. A parent object is deemed to be a document, view, or a group where a new layer property group is created. If this option is enabled, then creation of a group of properties is performed as follows: •if the parent object is a group of properties, then all layers of this group with their preset settings will be copied into the new group, •if the parent object is a view, then the new group will contain all layers of this view and their properties, •if the parent object is a document (a root object of the Document treethen the new group will contain all layers of all views. |

Change of the method of grouping in a document results in irreversible changes of created groups and filters. For more details, see section Basics of working with layer sets. |
On completion of the set-up, press the OKbutton. Click Cancel to discard all changes and close the dialog box.
