General settings of dimensions for the current graphic document are configured in the General settings dialog, invoked by the command Setup — Parameters... — Current drawing/fragment — Dimensions — General settings.
A similar dialog is used to perform general settings of model dimensions.
The dialog allows for setting the default gap/length of extension lines for linear dimensions and the default format of displaying the values of angular dimensions.

Fix for Linear Dimensions |
On labeling dimensions, the extension line can start at some distance from the snap point. You can fix both the length of extension lines and a gap between the snap point and the start of extension. For that, enter the required value into the Gap or Length, mm field. Only integer values of length (gap) are allowed. If it is required to make the set number define the gap between the leader line and the dimension snap point, enable the Gap of Leader Lines option. However, if the entered value should determine the length of extension line, enable the Extension line lengthoption. If the value in the Gap or Length, mm field is equal to zero, the extension lines start at the snap points of the dimension and can be of any length. |

Display format of angular dimensions |
Select the display format for the value of angle in dimensional captions of the angular dimensions. If it is required to display the values of angles in the corners in format XX°XX'XX” format, enable the Degrees, minutes, secondsoption. If it is required to display the values of angles in the XX, XXX° format, enable the Decimal systemoption. The precision of displaying the values is set in the dialog for setting up the precision of dimension texts (see section Precisions). |

Upon completion of the general settings of dimensions, press the OK button. Click Cancel to discard all changes and close the dialog box.
